Mac – Do you get a feeling that there is too much to do at a time and too less time to do it ?
Adam – Yes I do.
Mac – So how will you solve it ?
Adam – Oh! I will try to do multiple things at one time and see what best can I achieve out of it. I can Multitask it comes naturally.
Mac – Ok
A week after the conversation they met again
Mac – So how are things ?
Adam – I am swamped with work and nothing is going correct. Something is wrong I can sense it but I can not make out what it is. I think they are conspiring against me, I am not happy with my own performance and above all the work is not getting finished.
Mac – What is wrong according to you ?
Adam – I do not know, I am doing the best I can. I will try to do more.
Can you relate to this conversation and has it ever happened to you.
What do you think the reason for this ?
Adam is a hard working guy who wishes to do best of what he has at hand but still not able to accomplish anything. Quite possibly because he is Multi-Tasking.
Can you think of two different things at one time.
NO! even Einstein could not do that.
So why are you trying it ?
If you look back at your day or to your week you will find you did a lot of things but you did all of them one at a time. Our brains are tuned in in such a way that they cannot think or do more than one thing at a time.
So if we can do just one thing at a time then what happens to the rest ?
They also get done one by one just follow the rhythm.
So if today or tomorrow you feel
that you have to many things at hand which you cannot control.
that you do not know how to come out of what you are in to.
that you do not know where to start and how to take control.
Just sit down take a step back and make a list of what you want to take under your control. See of the best way on how you can do it and then go ahead to do them but be sure you do ONE THING AT A TIME.
MULTITASKING IS NOT DOING MULTIPLE THINGS AT ONE TIME BUT BEING ABLE TO FOCUS ON ONE TASK THAT YOU ARE DOING FROM THE MULTIPLE LIST OF MULTIPLE TASKS YOU HAVE BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO REMEMBER YOU CAN ONLY DO ONE THING AT A TIME.
Focus on that ONE thing that you are doing at that time with no distractions
